My Back Story

Hi everyone, here’s a little about me and why I chose to become a Scalp Micropigmentation artist.

I’ve always had a high forehead and was often teased about it at school. Because of this, I grew a fringe and spent many years trying to hide it. As I got older, I started to notice that I was becoming slightly receding in my 30s.

Feeling paranoid and insecure about it, I decided at the age of 39 to look into treatment options. After doing some research, although admittedly not enough, I travelled to Cyprus to have the procedure done.

Unfortunately, the treatment was done badly. The dots were large and didn’t resemble natural hair follicles at all, and they eventually turned blue due to the practitioner using the wrong ink, depth, and technique.

Because of this, I had no choice but to undergo laser removal. This process took 11 sessions, yes 11, due to the depth and the traditional permanent tattoo ink that had been used.

At SMP Hair Solutions, we only use the best products for our clients. We use FOLICULE and BISHOP semi-permanent micropigmentation inks and needles, ensuring the safest and most natural results possible.

The laser treatment also caused my hairline to become thinner at the front edge, which made my insecurity feel even worse.

Determined to fix the issue properly, I carried out much more research and eventually found a company that not only corrected my treatment but also trained me to become a professional practitioner.

Because of my personality, being a perfectionist in everything I do and never having a “that’ll do” attitude, they believed I would be perfectly suited to the profession.

I then went through extensive training and became a fully qualified scalp micropigmentation practitioner.

Today, I absolutely love helping people regain their confidence the right way.

Hi I looked into SMP treatment and was certainly a bit sceptical, however I decided to go and see Glynn face to face and see what he has to say. Initially I was more wanting cosmetic inking to cover scars and skin patches ( which are quite common and large ). Glynn gave an honest explanation about the coverage and how much he can camouflage my issues. By that evening after speaking to Glynn I said , “ Sod it let’s do it “. I personally think he under estimated himself as he covered scars and patches with professionalism and dedication, also making myself feel at ease on every treatment day , (3 days over 6 weeks) .  Today was my last day and believe me I am so happy that I made that decision to go for it. Whole head covered to blend in with the camouflage of the issues, scars not so noticeable and the appearance of a full head of hair. I just love it and look younger. ( although this was not the intention). I’m so glad I took the advice of Glynn to go in this direction. Glynn is very proud of his work and takes his time whilst giving after treatment advice. Glynn is not only really skilled with the technique, but he took the time to inform me thoroughly of what to expect, was always available for advice, was very attentive and mindful of my experience of SMP, and just a great guy all round! I’m South Asian by descent, and my hair was thinning as opposed to mostly sparse, therefore the process including what shades of ink he used and how he did it, felt bespoke to my specific physicalities. The result, after three sessions was amazing and I was really glad that I chose this method, as a viable alternative to a hair transplant. My hair looks thicker, denser and completely natural as blended into my hair, and after the healing period, retained its colour and did not result in any discomfort. Together with Glynn’s friendly and approachable  demeanour, this was the best and most effective hair solution process I have undergone, to date. I totally recommend SMP Hair Solutions and would strongly advise to look here first, if you are thinking of getting this procedure done. I’m totally happy and wished I’d done it sooner.
